THE ELECTIONS.

STATE OF THE RE-COUNT.

Pee Press Association

Hastings, December 28

Tlie unofficial result of the recount of the Hawke’s Bay vote is: McNab 4217, Campbell 4177, informal 100; majority for McNab 40. The Magistrate ruled that 39 of the votes credited by the returning officer to Campbell, and eight to McNab were informal. It is 'understood that these votes have pencil marks through the Christian name (only) of one of the candidates, and the name of the other candidate is completely cancelled. It is almost certain that the Supreme Court ruling will >be taken. There are said to be numerous cases of dual voting.
