XPee Pbebb Association.] Dunedin, December 9. The Coroner opened an inquest this morning on the remains oi' James Thomas Neve, who was found dead at Strachan and Co.’s brewery yesterday. Deceased was found lying dead, with an electric light under his chin, and when Cornelius Moss, another employee, went to lift him, he (Moss) experienced a slight electric shock. There was a burn under Ins chin, and Dr. JVlcKellar, who made a .superficial examination of the body, said it presented three symptoms of death by electrocution. The Coroner said the lamp flight have caused a burn, but there was doubt whether the electric current was sufficiently strong to cause the death of a healthy man. The inquest was adjourned till next day, for the purpose of having a post-mortem examination, and also to obtain expert evidence regarding the condition of the lamp. Dunedin, December 10. The adjourned inquest was concluded to-day. .A verdict was returned that the cause of death was failure of the heart’s action due to an electric shock, result of deceased having accidentally slipped and fallen on an electric lamp which he was using at the time.
