TAIHAPE FREEZING WORKS.

Taihape, December 10
An enthusiastic meeting of shareholders in the Taihape Freezing Co. unanimously decided to resume the canvas of shares which had been suspended on the outbreak of war. Two hundred and eighty £5 shares had been allotted, and 720 more were required to be taken up before the company could be floated. Of these, 450 were taken up in the room. It is hoped to place the remainder before Christmas, in which case tenders will be called for the erection of the freezing works at a cost of £35,000. A site of 82 acres at Winiata. lias been purchased for £2870. It was reported that Major Norton has recommended the Bristol Co. to assist the project with a debenture of £20,000, and that it was more than likely the company would act on the recommendation.
