AN UNFOUNDED RUMOR. Per Press Association. Wellington, November 30. With reference to the statements recently made referring to the courtmartial of a German prisoner in Samoa, .the Prime Minister states that the Governor has received a message from Colonel Logan, Administrator of Samoa, that, there is no truth in the statement that any German had been condemned to death.

REINFORCEMENTS. A NATIONAL CAMP. Welling! on, November 30. The reinforcement camp now established at Trentham is remarkable in more ways than one. It is the first national camp in a truly national sense held in New Zealand. The men in »it are fully representative of the best manhood in the country, and the camp is considered to be the best organised and administered that has yet been held in this country, fn the past; camps have been held upon a purely regimental, brigade or district scale. In the present camp at Tren. tham, the whole of the New Zealand army is represented in every regiment and every arm of the service, and the men in it are going to reinforce every unit in the expeditionary force now on its way to Europe. The men -have been drawn from all parts of New Zealand. The camp is admirably laid' out and equipped. AN OFFER TO EX-OFFICERS. Wellintgon, November 30. The Imperial Government has notified that they will provide passages to and from Europe for all ex-Iriiperial regular and ex-imperial Territorial officers who'will rejoin their old units. An of £3O will be made foi prodding uniform and £7 10s for camp kit. All officers coming in under this offer must be between the ages of 24 and 40 and certified' as medically fit for temporary commission during the war. Applications should be made without delay to the Adjutant-General, 'Wellington 1 , and should show rank, unit and age. On receipt of application arrangements will be made for medical examination 1 .
