The latest Gazette contains formal notice of the transfer of Lieut. W. E. Sf Furby from the 11th to the 17th (Ruahine) Regiment. The death of Mrs Catherine Selig, relict of the late Rev. Selig, formerly of Wellington, is announcecl from Sydney. The Rev. E. L. Harvie, assistant curate of Holy Trinity Church, has received intimation that he has passed his recent examination of the New Zealand Theological Board, and will bo ordained :to the priesthood in Auckland by the Bishop on Sunday, 20th December. . V, The death occurred at Thames this morning of Mr F. Ernest Smith, the well-known Waikato architect, who was paying a visit to Thames on behalf of the Belgian Fund. The Press Association states that. Mr Smith met with a motor accident on Saturday, but the injuries he received were not considered serious, though he suffered from severe lacerations of the legs. 1 However, blood poisoning set in and rapidly spread, and he succumbed as stated.
