COUNTY ELECTIONS.
STRATFORD. The result of the East Riding election is now to hand, completing the returns. The sitting members were returned, Ci 1 . Walter receiving 124 votes and Cr. Were 113, the other candidate, Mr N. B. Fryday, redteiving 65 votes. I The new Council is therefore comi posed as follows: North Riding, Crs. [ W. Hathaway and L. Baskin; South Riding, Crs. J. Christoffel and T. E. Coleman; East Ridingi Crs. E. Walter and W. H. Were; West, Crs J. Smith and T. R. Anderson; Mangaehu Riding, Cr. H. B. Wortihington. ELTHAM. The official count of the voting for the South Riding shows a different result to the first announcement, Mr Campbell securing 88 yotes to Mr Quin (ex-chairman) 86, instead of the figuves being reversed.
