The Marylebone Club awarded the county championship to Surrey, though two matches had not been playing owing to the war. bowling. The New Plymouth bowlers in their two days’ trip round the Mountain, played two matches each day. They defeated Opunake by 72 to 50, were beaten by Pihama 96 to 51, had a win at Manaia by 54 to 51, and were shccessful also at Stratford. •
