Mr W. H. Hawkins, the Liberal candidate, addressed a record meeting of electors at Norfolk Road on Tuesday 1 evening and was accored a splendid hearing. Mr R. Stevens presided. A number of questions were dealt with, and a mbtion of thanks and confidence was proposed, but the candidate asked that the reference to confidence he eliminated. He looked to polling day for the confidence, and he was now making this a note at his meetings. The votes of thanks to the candidate and to the chairman (Mr Bfidgeman) were carried with enthusiasm.
