There was beautiful weather and a big crowd for the final day of the Y.R.C. Spring Meeting, the racing being very interesting. Results :

Flemington Stakes of 500 sovs; for two-year-olds, six furlongs.—Alasco 1, Cherry Dance 2, Sumurun (?) 3. Time, Imiu 25sec. V.R.C. Handicap, of 1000 sovs added. For three-year-olds and upwards. One mile and three quarters.—Eubulus 1, Wishing Cup 2, Gladwyn 3. Time, 3min L}sec. C. B. Fisher Plate, of 1000 sovs; weight for age, one mile and a half. —Mountain Knight, 7.10, 1; Cagou, 9.5, 2; Carlita, 7.5, 3. Time, 2min ■33 J sec.

Christehurch, November 9. The totalisatoMiandled £37,692 10s as against £30,025 last year. Additional results:—
New Zealand Derby Stakes, of 1000 sovs., for three-year-olds, special weights. One mile and a-half.—3 Balboa, 8.10 (B. Deeley), 1 ; I Reputation, 8.10 (L. Wilson), 2; 2 First Flight, 8.10 (F. F. Jones). 3. Also ran: I Biiigform, 5 Camulus, 0 Roumania. Reputation led round the turn and into the straight, but once fairly in line lor home First Flight challenged him a I'd soon had his measure. Balboa then put in his claim, and overhauling First Flight in the last hundred yards, won by a length and a half. Time, 2min 35 2-ssec. There appeared to be some interference in the straight by First Flight with Reputation, and the stewards, after inquiry, decided to alter the placing, and awarded second place to Reputation and third to First Flight. Juvenile Plate, for two and three year olds, special weights, 5 furlongs. —5 Tete-a-tete, 8.2, 1; 2 Bimeter, 8.0, 2; 3 Bee, 8.2, 3. Won by half a length. Time, lmin 0 4-ssec. Metropolitan Handicap, of 1300sovs., one mile and a half.—l Bonny Helen, 8.7, 1; 5 Quarantine, 7.7, 2; 3 Sinapis, 8.12, 3. "Won by a length, Sinapis a head away. Time, 2min 35 3-ssec.
Epsom HighrWeight Handicap, 1 mile.—3 Birkful, 8.13, 1; 1 Guiding Way, 9.1, 2; 8 Scotch Melody, 8.3, •'?. Won by half a head. Scotch Melody was only half a bead away. Time, lmin 42see. Ashley Handicap, 1 mile.—B St. Elmn, 7.6. 1; 5 Wharfinger, 8.0, '2; 7 Silver Shield, 8.11, 3. Time, lmin 43 l-ssec.
