Mr Joseph Chamberlain's estate has been sworn at £126,019. , ~.
A number of parents met at the school, Pohokura, on Tuesday last to bid good-bye to Mr J. Graham, who has been in charge of,the* school for', the last two and a half years. During the "time Mr Graham was in control he took a'great interest.in the school, and the splendid results.obtained ar« , evidence of his careful teaching. The school ground also show marked improvement. After partaking of afternoon tea, kindly provided by the ladies, the Chairman of Committee, Mr Pitcaithly, expressed the regret all felt at losing the services of Mr Graham. Mr Prideaux also spoke, eulogising the work done in the school. Muss May Spender (6ne of the pupils) thou, on • behalf of the school children, presented Mr Graham with a gold chain and pendant suitably inscribed. Mr Graham thanked the children for their gift, and expressed the regret he felt at parting from his pupils.
