THE EMDEN’S WORK

Petrograd, October 30

Official. The Emden attacked the Jumchug at daylight on Wednesday. She was disguised with a fourth funnel and other alterations. The Jnmchug was unsuspicious. The Emden, at full speed, launched two torpedoes. The second proved fatal. Eighty-five of the crew of 335 perished and 112 were wounded.

Tokio, October 30

The British Embassy is informed that the Emden flew the Japanese flag.
