'—Benson beat F. Hoeney on points. IWelter, six rounds.—J. Heeuty beat 'Havill (Palmer'ston North) on points". 'ln the professional contest, nominal'ly for 15 rounds, Pooley "murdered" 'Lowe in a round and a-half. Lowe 'went down early in the first round, and spent the greater part of the rest of the round on the mat. In the second round Lowe went down for eight, got up, and Pooley finished off the business with a right uppercut.
