CHINA’S DEMAND FROM JAPAN. Peking, October 27. China has demanded the surrender of a Japanese torpedoer and the crew, which entered Chinese territorial waters, attempted to tow off the wrecked Soo, and substituted the Japanese flag for the Chinese flying thereon.

Letters from English soldiers at Tsing-tao relate that they recently got to grips with the Germans, who asked for an armistice to allow them to bury their dead. This was refused, and the British chased the Germans to their innermost defences. The British casualties are slight.
