AMUSEMENTS.

HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. A fair attendance greeted last night’s change of pictures fat His Majesty’s Thea'ti'e, when that 'magnificently acted star feature, “Tlife Lure of London” was'shown as the chief attraction. Miss Ivy Close, the beautiful London actress, makes a great hit as the flower girl, and later as the catch of the season as premiere danseuse. It is a most pathetic tale of the poor side of London life, but towards the finish, when the mystery unravels itself, happiness shines through the apparent gloom. Those who have never seen the squalor of a great city and the principal and best .known thoroughfares of London should take this last opportunity to-night to see this splendid picture. “His First Love” was a very pretty little heart-touching drama, showing how a sweet little maid won over a hard-hearted bachelor. It is a very human story, including a little baby show, which adds to the interest. “Studies of Bird Life” and “Visions of Rome” were two Rathe color interest pictures, the former showing birds in their natural surroundings with the camera, but a few feet away, and a most interesting, study it makes. The Gaumont Graphic was full of world happenings and was much appreciated by the audience. To-night is the last chance of seeing this star programme. On Friday and Saturday there will he shown a remarkable and exciting Anglo-Indian drama, entitled ‘.‘The Golden Beetle,” depicting big game hunting in the jungles of India.
