AMUSEMENTS.
HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. There wasoa large audience at His Majesty’s last evening, the star picture being “Rox'ke’s' Drift.” At all times brave deeds are the worthiest to write of or depict, and this picture is especially worth seeing, as it brings to our minds an act of the kind which has made the Empire. Interwoven with the military part of the story is a tale of great, human interest. v In spite of the difficulty of making war scenes realistic on the film, it can be said of this picture that it is perfectly life-like, and a good idea of the difficulties undergone by Chard’s gallant men can be gathered from it. In support of tins excellent drama there was shown “A Lighthouse in Darkness” (drfiina); two fine scenics, “Waterfalls of America” and “Norway;” and a trio of screaming comics. “Rorke’s Drift” will be screened this evening. The programme was repeater at a matinee this afternoon, the proceeds being earmarked for the Belgian relief fund. ■ The following pictures will also be screened to-night:—English Gazette, Norway (scenic), Waterfalls of America, A Lighthouse in Darkness, a fine A.K. drama, and some funny photo-plays; Hubby’s Night Off, He Never Found Out, ’ and Keystone’s Busy Day. The latter shows some fine’parade scenes in Los Angeles, California, TJ.S.A.
