OPERATIONS ON SEA. LOSS OF GERMAN DESTROYER AND JAPANESE VESSEL. (Received 9.5 a.m.) Tokio, October 1. The Japanese siege sunk a German destroyer at Tsing-tau. A Japanese mine-sweeper was blown up and another was damaged, four of the crew being killed and nineteen wounded. German warships are heavily cannonading the Japanese position. Two Japanese officers were killed. • JAPANESE OCCUPY wAO SHAN OUTER HARBOR. CAPTURE OF EIGHT CUNS. (Received 10.0 a.m.) Peking, October 1. The Japanese landed marines and occupied the Lao Shan outer harbor, capturing eight guns. ANGRY QUARRELS. GERMAN AND TURKISH AUTHORITIES FALL OUT. (Received 11.30 a.m.) London, October 2. Reuter's Constantinople correspond ent reports that angry quarrels occurred between the German and Turkish authorities . The Germans complained of idleness, lack of discipline and disorganisation in the war services, whereupon many Turkish chiefs of departments, including the commissariat, refused to co-operate further with the Germans.
