LAWN TENNIS.

The annual meeting of the,Taranaki Lawn Tennis Association was hold on Friday night, when the following delegates were present: —Messrs J. C. Nicholson (Waverley Club), C. 13. Webster (Patea), A. R. Ryder (New Plymouth), and R. .1. White (Park), The balance-sheet, which showed a Credit of £36, was adopted. The Fitzroy Club notified its withdrawal from the Association, consequent on the disbandment of the club. At the present time; 15 clubs arc affiliated to the Association. Some discussion took place as to location of next year’s tournament, and the matter was left to the next meeting, early in October. The following office-bearers were elected: President, Hr. H. B. Leatham; secretary, Mr H. Stocker; auditor, Mr J. Paton (all re-elected).

A Sydney cablegram states that R. W. Heath (Victoria), won the Sydney singles tennis championship.
