A message from Petrograd states that the entire Russian Press lias renewed its solicitations to Italy to abandon her neutrality, offering her Trieste, Trent, Yalona, and also Russian commercial concessions.
The Embassy’s publication of the translation of the despatches of Sir Maurice do Bunsen, British Ambassador at Vienna, and Sir Edward Grey, had a profound effect. THE ARMY AMO NAVY. Hazell’s Annual for 1914 gives the following concerning Italy’s army: The total war strength of the forces is roughly as follows, but it must bo remarked that the men of the Territorial Militia are untrained:—
With the colors, officers, men 250,000 On unlimited furlough ... 450,000 Mobile Militia ... ... 520,000 Territorial MilUfia 2,200,000 Total on a war footing 3,220,000 Of whom 1,020,000 are more or less trained.
