in Mr David R. Lewers, of Kelburu, was held was shown by the large attendance at his funeral on Monday afternoon. states the Wellington Post. Amongst those present were several of his pioneer friends in the Feilding district. A brief service was held at the residence, and another at the graveside, where reference was jmade to the deceased’s steadfastness and consistent Christian life. Messrs Robert D. Lewers, of Stratford, Joseph F. Lewers, of Christchurch (sons), J. A. Sleator (brother-in-law), W. W. Corpo, J. Moir, and W. Allen acted as pall-bear-ers. Mr Samuel Lewer#, of Auckland, was unable to reach Wellington in time to attend the funeral. The late Mr Lewers has left a widow, a grownup daughter, and the three sons abovementioned.
