THE CAPTURE OF SEMLIN. SUPERIOR STRATEGY OF THE SERVIANS. OPERATIONS IN THE NIGHT. Rome, September 12. The capture of Semlin was phoned with great secrecy. While the Austrians continued daily their bombardment of Belgrade, the Servians massed several divisions behind the hills
four miles from Belgrade. They built pontoons at night over the Danube and Sava, by which the infantry and artillery crossed and stormed the fortifications.
