During the week ending July 31st, the Secretary of the Admiralty made an announcement to the effect that the King having expressed the desire that the greater pari of the fund subscribed for the purpose of commemorating His Majesty's Coronation by subjects of His Majesty bearing the Christian name "George" in all parts

The sum availal)le has been invested, and the income arising therefrom will be devoted to the institution of scholarships, termed the "Kin,? Gemot? Pri/.e Scholarships." One scholarship will be awarded each year fn the officrr in His Majesty's Royal Marines who shall, as a result of the iiimu«il rompotitive examination, be selected l>y the Admiralty for admission to the Military Staff College at Camberley. Each scholarship will be tenable for two years, and will ordinarily consist of half the.net income for the year, derived From the fund. estimated approximately at £97 10s. The first scholarship is to be awarded this year.
