On Thursday, 3rd hist., wo hold a clearing sale on account of Lieut-Col. W. G. Malone at his residence on the Opunake Road. There was a very large attendance of the public from all parts of tho district. Very satisfactory prices were realised, everything being sold except a gig, which was bought in. The cows made from £6 to £8 ss, 2 year old heifers from £5 10s to £0 10s, yearling hull £3, aged mare £l4 10s, yearling colt £6 ss.
On Friday, 4th inst., we held a clearing sale on account of T. W. Hatcher at his farm, Stanley Road, at which there was a fair attendance of the public. Anything good in the cows showing quality and youth in ad a good money, hut aged and backward cows were neglected. Cows low in condition £0 10s to £7 ss, 3-teaters and backward cows £5, store cows £3 7s 6d to £1 ss, Holstein bull £7 ss. We also offered on account of Mr Chas,. Jago some very nice heifers, which realised from £5 iOs to £7 10s, small and backward £4 10s to £5.
