A general battle is in progress m the southern districts of Lublin Kholm. A magnificent Russian bayonet charge practically annihilated the Eleventh Houvoe Regiment.
Lublin.—Capital of a government of the same name in Russian Poland, 96 miles S.E. of Warsaw, on the left bank of the Bystricza river.
BATTLES PROCEEDING OVER 200-
MILE FRONT.

Battles are proceeding between Lemberg and the Vistula, over a front of 800 kilometres (about 200 miles). KOENSCSBURG INVESTED.
Paris, August 29. Official news is to the effect that Koenigeburg is completely invested.

The Russians, when approaching Koenigsburg, dislodged the garrison outposts, and also occupied Allenstein, a town 65. miles to the southward on the river Alle.
• Tm> Alsatian array, under Grand Duke Frederick of Baden, is reinforcing the Germans in East Prussia.

GERMAN AIRSHIP SECURED BY
RUSSIANS.
St. Petersburg, August 29
Russians shot and brought down a German Zeppelin, which was hombardbigra railway station at Calaya, on the Polish frontier! The Zeppelin contained eight soldiers and two quickfirers, with explosives.
