EMISSARIES AT WORK IN EGYPT [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] IUmTBD Press Association.] London, August 29. The newspapers refer to the fact that Turkish emissaries are active in Egypt. Italian papers also comment on Turkey’s doubtful attitude. St. Petersburg, August 29. The attitude of Turkey is causing perplexity. It is reported that military preparations are being carried on with all speed, and reservists are being drilled. Only German war news is published at Constantinople.
TURKISH REASSURANCES.
London, August 29
A Reuter message states that Turkish officials in London do not believe the statement that German sailors are going to Constantinople. Turkey has repeatedly given assurances of her strict neutrality, and denies moving against Greece, or action under German inspiration.
GERMAN NAVALS ARRIVE IN CONSTANTINOPLE.
Athens, August 30,
It is semi-officially reported that eight hundred German naval officers and sailors, with a quantity of ammunition, traversed Bulgaria on Friday by special train for Constantinople. The total now exceeds a thousand.
