PERSONAL.
The death is announced by cablegram from London of Mr D. C. Hogg, M.P. for Londonderry City.
Mr W. P. Kirkwood, Mayor of Stratford, accompanied by Captain J. McMillan,, motored through to Palmerston North yesterday in order to be present, at the send-off ceremony at the Expeditionary Force Camp, whioh takes place to-day. Mr. L. Evans, well known as manager of the To Tua Company's Dairy Factory, Orepuki, has received the appointment of manager of the Raliotu Factory. Prior to his departure a send-off was tendered him, and he received a travelling bag and rug as a token of esteem. The death is announced from Christchurch of Mr O'Byren Hoare, who was ordained a. minister of the Anglican Church and in 1865 came out to Christchurch as incumbent of St. John's Church. In IS7I he returned to England, and after eleven years returned once more to Christchurch as vicar of St. Paul's, at Papanui. He left the Church of England in 1898 to found a n<»w church which ke, named "Our Father'* Okuruk,"
