Bishop Averill

VISIT TO STRATFORD. j The Bishop of Auckland (Bishop Averill) arrived in Stratford yesterday afternoon on his first visit to the Taranaki portion of his diocese. In the evening a welcome social was held in the Parish Hall. After the Bishop had addressed those present he was introduced personally to the parishioners, and a pleasant evening was spent with songs and music. This morning the Bishop conducted Holy Communion at 8 o’clock, and a ■special service at 10.15 o’clock, conducting a confirmation service at 'Midhirst in the afternoon.

This evening Bishop Averill will {conduct Evensong, with address, in {the church at 7.30 p.m., and at 8.15 p.rn. a missionary mooting will be held in the Parish Hall, at which the (speakers swill he the Bishop, Archdeacon Hawkins, Mr Smith and the Rev, F. Grawfihaw.
