The Battle of Haelen.
GERMANS LOST 2000 MEN AND 15 GUNS. DEAD HORSES WERE EVERYWHERE. Times and Sydney Sun Services. London, August 18. The engagement at Haelen was more costly than was supposed. The Germans lost 2000 dead and abandoned fifteen guns. Dead horses were strewn everywhere.
