Second Edition. German Operations
ENGAGEMENT REPORTED IN THE VICINITY OF LIEGE. DUtCH DEFEND LIMBURG. [By Electric Telegraph--Copyright] [United Press Association.] (Received 1.30 p.m.) Brussels, August o. At live o’clock this morning the Chamber passed a wax; credit of two hundred million francs. The Germans at four o’clock this afternoon continued their onward march near, fort PlCron, Liege, where an engagement is reported. The Germans were out of range of the forts and are evidently desirous of following the line of the Meuse. It is reported that the 6th German army corps, encamped in the Morestadt district, was .continuing its advance, massing between Morosuot and Eupen. All Germans have been expelled from Liege and Namur. Artillery lire- was. heard at Aywaillo. A strong Dutch contingent defends Dutch 1 Liomburg. Belgium has announced that, the crossing of her frontier by French, and Bj-itish soldiers is not now considered hostile.
