COMMONWEALTH CABLES.
[By Elkotbio Telegraph—Coftbight] [United Press Association.] (Received 10.15 a.m.) Sydney, August 1. Fire destroyed Forster and Thompson's store at Orangi, causing damage to the amount of £9OOO. A company is being floated to run motor omnibuses in opposition to the trams. It is expected ten will be running within six weeks. Giving his decision in the matter of the appeal by the Amalgamated Engineers against the decision of the Gasworkers' and Engineers' Special Demarcation Board, Justice Heydon said: "I have come to the conclusion that the existing dail ycontempt of outraging the law exposes the Court to most serious criticism. In the future strikers must not bo surprised if the fine of the full limit of £SO per man is. imposed, as the policy of leniency has entirely failed, and it is the disagreeable, but at the same time the clear duty of the Court to abandon that policy."
