The Department of Agriculture lias received the following cablegram from the High Commissioner: The wool sales closed with strong demand for all classes. Trade is good and the supply falls short of the demand. The prospects are favorable for a continuance Of the present prices. American purchases are approximately estimated at 170,000 bales. Six thousand four hundred bales of Xcw Zealand wool were held over. The estimated value of superior merinos was Is 2[d to Is 4d, medium 1 ltd to Is 2d, inferior Dd to lid, line crossbreds (all grades) Is 3d to Is sd, medium crossbreds (all grades) Is to Is 2.U1, coarse crossbreds (all grades) 10d to Is Id. .
