Interest in Bisley centres in the meeting ofhthe War Office and the Rifle Association Council on Wednesday, when the scheme with regard to the competitions, temporarily withdrawn, and from which neither intends to recede, will he, submitted. The majority of the competitors, including the Australians, object strongly to any change in the programme. LACROSSE. Sydney, July 21. The New South Wales lacrosse team sails fop New Zealand on August 29, and will play Wellington on September 5 arid Auckland on September 8, proceeding to Rotorua and returning to Auckland to play New Zealand on September 12th, concluding the tour. BILLIARDS. (Received 9.30 a.m.) Sydney, July 23. H. Rumball won the amateur billiard championship of New South Wales, defeating Shailer, the holder. RIFLE SHOOTING. Campbell, captain of the Leeds football club, has written to the press, urging the Northern Union to adopt the substitute system. The suggestion was coldly received.
