BAND OF HOPE MEETING.

AT TOKO ROAD. A very enjoyable evening was spent in the Toko Road Hall on Monday night, where a largo number of people were present, the occasion being the first Band of Hope meeting this season. A number of friends from Stratford journeyed out, and supplied the evening's programme. SOIO3 were given by Miss Ida Boon, Miss Hilda Henry, Mr Linyard and Mr C. Russ; recitations were given by Mrs Boon, Master Wedge Boon and Mr Nicholls; a pianoforte duet was nicely played by the Misses Boon and Henry, and Mr Russ also played a pianoforte solo. Two dialogues were >n the programme, which occupied a fair amount of time, and were very much appreciated/ A reading by Messrs Olsson and Russ was also very interesting. The chairman of the meeting, Mr Marfell, explained the object of Stratford friends in journeying out to Toko Road, to commence the meetings out there. At the close of the entertainment, the necessary officers were elected, and the meetings are to bo held every month. After a short business part of the programme, supper was partaken of, which was kindly supplied by the ladies of Toko Road.
