The Court of Appeal in British Columbia unanimously decided against the Hindus aboard the Komgata Mam being allowed to land. The Court held that the Order-in-Council prohibiting the admission of Asiatics was good and had full effect. The Hindus did not possess the necessary amount of money to permit them to land in Canada, and had not made a direct journey to the country. The riiajority were unskilled laborers, and, therefore, temporarily barred under any circumstances.
