(Received 10.40 a.m.) Parke and Mrs Larcombe beat Wilding and Mdlle. Broquedis, 4—6, B—4, 6—2. Misses Morton and Ryan beat Mesdames Larcombe and Hannan, 6—l, 6—3. (Received 12.10 p.m.) In the All-England Plate, Dixon defeated Harding, 6—l, 6—2. (Received 12.40 p.m. ) The day was raining. The first two sets were completed in twenty-two minutes. Barrett was sound throughout, playing to centre lirto in hopes of scoring off Wilding's left or Brookes's right. He poached continually, the third set showing remarkable activity until Dixon, who had been very patchy, brilliantly assisted to win the sot. The last set was called "3-all," "4-alI," "5-all," "6-all." The match was a triumph for youth and physical force, rather than science. Wilding was in superlative form, and probably did not miss more than five or six chances of scoring throughout.
