SALE OF PEDIGREE HGi-STEINQ.
Newton King held a very successful sale on Thursday at Mr J. T. Hughes's Rugby End farm at Tariki, when his fine herd of Holsteins was disposed oi by public auction. Mr Dick Cottier wedded the hammer, and there was a large attendance, including prospective buyers from Oakura and as far south as Kakaramea. The prices were as follows: • / Lord Clothildes. by Lord De Kol— Clothildes Beauty, realised 45gns. King Segis De Kol, by King Segis— Oakland Manor, for Jogns. was purchased by Mr G. Williams, Kent Road. Lady Dorothea Algarta, by King Alcata Piertje—Lady Piertje Clothildes, was knocked down to Mr J. v Brown, of Ingle wood. The same buyer secured My Daisj' 11, by Sir Bruce De Kol—My Daisy, at 41gnsj Clothildes' Buttercup I. went to W. Linn, of Oakura, at 16igns. Mary Clothildes T. fell to Mr W. Honeyfield, Tataram'aika, for 18gns. Mary 11., by Lord Clothildes—Tariki Mary, was secured by Mr G. G. Rymons, of Tariki. Altogether, the sale was very successful, and the grade "beasts as well as the sundries put up brought fair prices. Grade forward cows of quality brought from £ll to £ls 15s; ordinary £7 to £lO 10s, backward and empty £4 10s to £6 15s. A nice'line of wea-no-r Shorthorn heifers from £2 Is. The usual sundries were offered and realised good prices.
