SUNDRY SPORTS.
CRICKET. (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association A Sydney, June 24. Barbour has informed the Board cf Central that he will be unable to visit South Africa. Doubt exists as to whether Macartney, Kelleway and Hazlitt are able to go. It is suggested that any further defections may cause the South African auhtorities to withdraw their guarantee. BILLIARDS. The bov champion billiard player of New Zealand, Clark M'Conachy, of Timaru (says the Herald) is to start shortly on a tour of the Dominion, giving exhibitions of his skill as a cueist. The youthful champion is following in the footsteps of the world-renowned George Gray, and like that player M'Conarchy’s chief stroke is the losing hazard, which he plays with great accuracy. His greatest break to date was made in his father’s saloon in Timaru, when he compiled the remarkable total of 1083. Breaks of one, two, and three hundred come from his cue with great regularity, and there seems every, reason to believe that he will shortly be heard from in big games.
