RAIL TO WHANGAMOMONA
FROM FIRST OF JULY. For some time past the people of Whangamomona have been looking forward to the time when the section of railway to their township would be handed over to the Railway Department, when trains would run without a break from Stratford to Whangamomona. The recent expedient of using the Public Works Department’s train between.-Pohokura and Whangamomona was a decided improvement over the riding or driving between the points, but it was not a very comfortable method of travelling, and the change announced to take place as from July Ist will be welcomed by all those who use the line. The alterations in the timetable are slight. On Tuesday and Saturday trains leave the Eastern township at 5.45 a.m. and 12.50 p.m. The former arrives in Stratford as heretofore and the latter at 3.30 p.m. ' The train leaving Stratford at 9.30 a.m. on Tuesday and Saturday arrives at Whangamomona at 11.20 a.m., and persons whose ‘Klisiness can he transacted in a short space of time will be able to return by the 12.50 p.m. train. The train from east on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday leaves AYhangamomona at 11.20 a.m. and Pohokura at 11.40 a.m. (in place of 11.55 as formerly) and arrival is made in Stratford at 2 p.m in place of 2.40 as now. On the daily, outward journey the train will leave Stratford at 7 p.m., arriving at Whangamomona at 9.20 p.m. ; r . 0 | 1 H
