The death of Sir John Dodds, Chief Justice of Tasmania, is announced from Hobart. : r., Mr G. Mr Newton King, who leaves for England, via Vancouver, by the Nia- >. gara on July 3rd, will be accompanied by Mrs King, Miss Betty King and Messrs W. and E. King. \ Mr J. B. Hine, M.P., owing to a severe attack of influenza, which has confined him to his home for the past week, is compelled to absent himself from the opening of Parliament this year. r His friends will wish him a speedy recovery. Mrs R. Cunningham, aged 84, a resident of, New Plymouth since 1842, died this morning. A Press Association message states that deceased arrived in'the Timandra with her parents, the Loveridge’s, a well-known Tarahaki family. /
