VILLA AND CARRANZA.
THE MEXICAN MIX-UP. [Br Eleotbio Telegraph—Cofybight] [United Fbebb Association.] Niagara Falls, June 17. Owing to the reported breach between Villa and Carranza, over Villa's supporters seizing a post office controlled by the Carranza ists, the mediators are pessimistic regarding their efforts. It is reported that Villa has thrown up all the military offices under Carranza. . CAUSE OF THE BREACH. (Received 9.20 a.m.) Mexico City, June 17. It is reported that Villa, exasperated at the appointment of another general to invade Zacatecas, refused to assist the general when defeated there. Carranza thereupon suspended Villa in the command.
FAILURE OF PEACE CONFERENCE PREDICTED. (Received 10.30 a.m.) Washington, June 17. The failure of the I'oace Conference is freely predicted. The delegates conferred at Buffalo with the Carranzista representatives, but refuse to'divulge the result of the conference. A NAVAL ENGAGEMENT. It is reported that "the Huerta n gunboat Guerrero defeated the Constitutionalist gunboat Tampico, near Mazatalan. The captain arid chief engineer of the Tampico committed suicide. AT SUGGESTION TO RESIGN. (Received 1.30 p.m.) Vera Cruz, June 17. British refugee's arriving from Mexico City report that Sir Lionel Carden has ' advised Huerta to resign and leave Mexico. Huerta is enraged, and threatened to arrest Sir Lionel' if he repeated the suggestion.
