A special committee of the Wellington Hospital Board decided to recommend that enquiries be made to ascertain on what terms sufficient property could be obtained suitable for the establishment of a hospital dairy farm.—P.A. Mr Harle Giles presided at the Conciliation Council at Hamilton to hear the country hotels' dispute. A full "settlement wa s reached. The .men in the lower-grade hotels received Is 6d a week more than at presenc. The 'employers also granted a generous - preference clause and a six-day week. The Commissioner granted to the first-grade hotelkeepers leave to file counter proposals relating to claims for exemption. These will be considered by the Arbitration Court.— P. A.
