The insuregnts aimed at tiring out the garrison, sending forward small co« ; tingents with orders to restrain their lire till evening. Fifteen hundred Mali>sori loyalists relieved the exhausted Government troops. When firing recommenced the warships turned the searchlights on the insurgents' positions.
Achmeymati, with 1500 followers, occupied Tirana, placing the rebels, numbering three thousand, between two tires. The rebels thereupon retreated. They were handicapped by the absence of artillery. The precision of the Government's machine guns, served by Dutch, German and Austrian artillerists, was remarkable. THE INSURGENTS DEFEATED. NEGOTIATIONS FOR PEACE. (Received 9.35 a.m.) Durazzo, June 17. The insurgents retired, leaving hundreds of dead and wounded on the field. Two emissaries are now negotiating for peace.
