STRATFORD LICENSING COMMITTEE.

The annual meeting of the Strata ford Licensing Committee was held to-day. The bench was occupied by Mr Kenrick, S.M., chairman, and Messrs H. B. Curtis, J. Masters, A. Meredith, J. Therkleson and W. Morrison. New licenses were granted as follow:—F. Whittle, Stratford Hotel (Mr Spratft); P. Phelan, Commercial Hotel (Mr Spratt); W. Lovett, Club Hotel (Mr Lawrey): R. H. Campbell, Empire Hotel (Mr S. Spence); J. C. Parsons, Mt. Egmont Hotel, Midbirst (Mr S. Spence); A. J. Hintz, Junction Hotel, Toko Mr S. Spence). C. Diamond applied for a permanent transfer to W. Lovett in respect of the Club Hotel. Mr Lawrey appeared. The transfer was granted. Renewals were granted as follows: J. Rothery, Whangaraomona Hotel (Mr S. Spence); W. P. Kirkwood, County Hotel (Mr Spratt); W, R. Bonner, Tariki Hotel (Mr Rutherford).

D. J. Malone was granted a renewal of his wholesale license. The chairman stated that the police reports were favourable in all cases, and it would appear that the houses were well conducted and in good condition.
