TYNAN AT THE COURT.
ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGE. £Pbb Press Association.] Auckland, June 1. At the Police Court William Tynan was charged with the attempted murder of his daughter Evelyn, whom he waylaid when she was leaving school and cut her throat with a razor. Prisoner sat through the proceedings unconcernedly, as having apparently only a spectator's interest in the evidence, though he occasionally displayed signs of nervous stress. Detective McMahon stated that prisoner when arrested expressed a desire to be hanged without delay. Mrs Tynan stated that her husbandhad threatened her previously with a razor, but she had never heard him threaten her children. Her husband had been drinking to excess. Tynan when asked to plead remained silent and was committed for trial.
