There was a representative gathering of wine merchants and Mr Minnow (Government expert) at the New Zealand Government Bureau to test samples of the 1909-10 vintage of light wines produced at the New Zealand Government experimental vineyard at Waerenga. Mr Blunow said lie looked forward to the time when there would he reciprocity between Australia and New Zealand, and wine would he amongst the products covered. Exports' expressed the opinion that the wines vein of good body, hut were capable of improvement as regards Mending 1 and finish. New Zealand should he au idea champagne country. The trade could he made successful hy careful handling and the selecting of districts and vines. An interesting lest was made of 1 samples from other districts.
