NEW SNAPPING SERVICE.

THE NORDDEUTSCHER LLOYD. By Electric Telegraph- Copyright [United Press Association.] (Received 9.55 a.in.) Sydney, May 22. Interviewed respecting the London cablegram that the NorddeutscberLloyd proposed to extend its operations to New Zealand, shipping men expressed doubt, pointing to the fact that since the company is only able with a subsidy of a quarter of a million to run a monthly service between Australia and Europe at a loss, it seemed obvious that an extension to New Zealand, which was already served by steamer via the Cape, was not a commercial proposition. They suggested, however, that the movement may bo part of the German public policy for the development of the deep-sea carrying trade.
