The Sphinx Club banqueted Sir George Reid at the Connaught Rooms. Sir George Reid said Australia had never played a larger part in tiie development of the Empire than during the part twenty or thirty years. He hoped that all races of the Empire would develop the higher qualities in every part and become qualified to take their share in Imperial affairs, but any such attempt at present would lead to chaos.
