SNOW IN CENTRAL OTAGO.
A: HEAVY-FALL. iPrE'PaKBi Association.] Dunedin, May 9. Heavy snow is reported from Central Otago, principally in the upper readies of the Clutha Valley. At Hawea seven inches fell, and at Pembroke trees were broken down. The snow coming s» early will make the. position serious for pastoralisfcs unless a thaw comes quickly, in which case serious floods may be expected.
