THE GOVERNOR AND THE Xlth. (Special.) Takapau, May 8. Lord Honorary Colonel of the Xlth Regiment, has written to Colonel Malone expressing regret that he is unable to be with the Regiment in camp owing to preparations for his departure for the Cook Islands on the 22nd. He deplores the weather conditions, and expresses wishes for the welfare of officers and men in camp. An escort yesterday brought from Palmerston £15,000 in gold.
