REGISTRATION REFUSED.

WELLINGTON WATERSIDERB. [Feb Press Association.] Wellington, May 7. Mr F. W. Rowley, registrar of the Labor Department, has received advice from the Solicitor-General that the application of the old Waterside Workers’ Union for registration under the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act should be refused, the main reason being that the union cannot show that “owing to distance, diversity of interest, or other substantial reason,” it is more convenient for them to register separately than to become or remain members of the existing Wharf Labourers’ Union.
