ACCIDENTS AT SEA.
FIRE ON THE WHAKATANE. (.ii'i EIBOTHIC TkLBGBAPH—UoPZBIQHTj [United Pbesb Association.) (Received 10.55 a.in.) London, May 5. The Whakatane has arrived at St. Helen'a. She reports that a fire in the forepcak on April 30th was extinguished after five hours. Only stores were damaged. THE PERTHSHIRE'S LUCK. gjitwj, Durban, May 5. The-Perthshire, 610 miles south of Durban, sent a wireless message that she was returning as her machinery was defective.
